Escaping perfectionism with Beat Ratio

In this age of iPods and file sharing, music as a physical, tangible medium seems to be on the verge of extinction. And with it, the limitations that once forced artists to work “harder” to create music. The first release from London based Beat Ratio is a reaction against the ease of this new way of working and the (sometimes useless) perfectionism that comes with it. Working exclusively “out of the box” with the aid of a cassette four track and drum machines, this project is an attempt to “craft” songs in a more organic way. The limitations imposed by the tape medium are used as a stimulus for creativity rather than a way to give a lo-fi quality. Plasticrane is very proud to release the first Beat Ratio EP with two songs, “Island in the City” and “Monkey Girl”. Enjoy and stay tuned.

Welcome to the Rational Park

The growing complexity of today’s society seems to coerce and restrict rather than enhance human freedom. With our status of anonymous consumer, we, as small gears, feed day by day this huge and unstoppable engine called world. We should go back from the line crossed ages ago, go back and think critically and creatively to our real needs. Come back to our Rational Park.

Plasticrane is proud to release the first efforts of Rational Park, inviting you to reflect on the Nature concept and to celebrate one of the main event of Modena, the Festival Filosofia, a three days festival focused on philosophical lectures and surrounded by art, music and cool people from everywhere.

Silent is the war that you fight everyday, going to school, paying your rent, eating your meal, reading your books; the one you fight to keep these basic rights by your side. The war that allows you to be aware of what’s happening around you; a simple, little thing, that today is so hard to do.

Plasticrane wishes you an Happy New Year with “Silent War”, the first EP from Rational Park. Join us in this place of sweet revolutionary thoughts.

Finally available one of the longest awaited album of all times, and one of the most unuseful. Compiled as a soundtrack for a Science Fiction b-movie, is a collection of noisy sounds made mostly with analog instruments, crappy sequencers, guitar loops and a lot of mental disorder. Noisemonsters are here, to control you and steal your most precious energy, the noise. Enjoy the Rise and Fall of the Noisemonsters, an history of war, racism and social integration. Enjoy the amazing artwork and the animated gif included in the package.
Plasticrane special tribute to all the Sci-fi world.

An History of Technology

After the summer break, Plasticrane Prod. comes back with a new look, and the new effort of our favorite ambient-noise duo, this time under the monicker MIR.
A concept album about the human being, evolution and ideas, to keep you aware of the deepness of existence. Liquid atmospheres and wrapping melodies filtered through the cold sensitiveness of the machines.
Enjoy and stay tuned.

Due to recent trades, “An history of Technology” will be soon available on Pizzico Hidden.

Dear all,

Thirty Tyrants Prod & Plasticrane Prod. are proud to present the SEMELLE Original Soundtrack, composed and recorded by Wheel of Knowledge for Andrea Zanoli & Marco Marconcini’s Semelle movie, who won several prizes at the Location Piacenza Film Festival, Italy, in which it has been released  from 13th to 19th of June 2009.

Wheel of Knowledge thought it was worth the less to release something superb for this superb movie, and, in one week of work, the first results recorded joined the movie images; tons of sounds has been of course roughly cut of the movie, since WOK composed 40 minutes of music more then needed; in the movie, you can listen only a part of the entire soundtrack; but then, after champagne and expensive cigars have been consumed and the movie-crew get mad in Piacenza’s worst bars, WOK worked again on the music, choosing which sound would better fit to the imagination of the original thesis of the movie, which represented a world under control by police and by some infamous fascist patrols, a world in which the curfew begin when the sun set and in which idiotic mass media information reports politicians idiotic statements.

The meaning of the movie, which is that the beauty of the world is still present around us, for all «those who [didn’t] bartered their freedom for the safety to live under lock and key but [for those] who preferred the risk to be free», is widely represented in WOK music, who released a long track (32mins – the longest track ever released by WOK) composed in more parts like a sort of stream of consciousness on the subject described above. The second and third tracks, instead, were explicitly commissioned by the movie directors, while the third one, originally intended to be the soundtrack for the rebels’ pursuit scene, wasn’t add to the movie at last.

Enjoy yourself with SEMELLE movie (look here below) and have a nice hear!

Sometimes everyone should try something different,
unexpected or simply that never considered before.
You might be surprised or not by these experiences,
but sure, you might learn something new.
For that Plasticrane is proud to explore a different
path with this release: electronic music, in particular
the wave of minimal tech-house.
Enjoy diukke.
